Python Django Developer (Junior / Medior)

Who are we?

Reliving is an online marketplace for second-hand furniture and design. The company was founded in 2019 by Ananda, Jody and Vincent with the aim of making second-hand furniture the norm. About 60 million pieces of furniture are thrown away every year, while a large part can be reused. With Reliving we want to show that buying second-hand can be done differently. This is not only better for the planet but also provides people with a unique interior.

Our office is located in Amsterdam West and is of course fully furnished with second-hand furniture. Our team consists of ten people and will experience significant growth in 2022.

What you’ll be doing?

You will be working with Jasper (backend lead) and Vincent (CTO) to shape and further develop Reliving. We have the basics up and running, but you can imagine that we still have a lot of things we want to improve or implement. You will be involved in defining and implementing solutions that will directly (or indirectly) impact the customer experience, which gives this role a lot of impact on our business.

Your responsibilities will be split roughly 50/50 between optimizing existing processes and implementing new solutions from scratch. You’ll be the third person in the backend team, so there's the opportunity to work on many different things.

Who are you?

• 2+ years experience of Python coding skills

• 2+ years hands on experience with the Django framework

• Solid database skills in a relational database (i.e. PostgresSQL, MySQL, etc.)

• Knowledge of how to build and use RESTful APIs

• Strong knowledge of version control (i.e. git.)

• Experience deploying Python applications into production

• Strong English skills: speaking + writing.

• Team player, result-oriented approach to development, excellent communication skills.

• Eager to learn and excited about making a (sustainable) impact

Nice to have skills

• Experience working with testing frameworks & TDD
• Experience working on E-commerce / Marketplaces
• Experience working with Javascript and React (Native).
